HOWEVER,
Compare to the opening theme music from the 1954 "Sherlock Holmes" TV series...:
A very nice opening theme from the 1984- Granada "Sherlock Holmes" TV series (Jeremy Brett)...
@Myriacanth Totally agree regarding the 'topical' controversial aspects.
And yes, it's hard to feel sympathy for characters which seem to have brought problems on themselves.

I keep reading how many 'critics' consider it one of Hitchcock's best films - but I didn't see anything (at least during that viewing) which would place it ahead of Psycho, North by Northwest, etc...
@Myriacanth @Astartiel
Same here (as far as the sequel, etc...)

Close Encounters was Richard Dreyfuss, and his "Devil's Tower" in the mashed potatoes, and tossing yard plants and bushes through his house window to sculpt the tower in his living room..
However this screenshot is from "The Philadelphia Experiment"...
(But - Now I really would like to check out that Carol Burnett Skit... )
@chuck34108
Correct... !
Just saw "Frenzy" (1972) for the first time.
I'll need to check this film out a few more times before making a 'firm' rating.
Overall I liked it - particularly at the end of Act II / beginning of Act III, where the actual villain has to *earn* the crime, frantically searching for a potential incriminating piece of evidence.
The ending is quite abrupt, but thinking about it - there's not really much more to add.

A pleasure...
That's one of the things I like about doing these "What film?" and other such related posts... Maybe simple reminders of favorite films... maybe a suggestion to entice someone to check something out they normally wouldn't think of... or simply having fun... !
