Senior Technical Program Manager - Infrastructure job at Reddit, Inc

Anyone?
Anyone?
Bueller?

Wow this didn't go the way I expected given the headline:
10 states plan to sue EPA over standards for residential wood-burning stoves

"programs that encourage people to trade in older stoves and other wood-burning appliances, such as forced-air furnaces, haven’t necessarily improved air quality"

States want more/better regulation?! That's a thing?

alright I did some minor works outside just to prove the atmosphere isn't the boss of me.

Heat and humidity up of course the AC failed. It's old and uses some terrible refrigerant so I wanted it to last another year when state rebates plus Infrastructure Act funds will help towards a heat pump. The gas furnace is also old so -- twofer.

Welp. Took a quick look not knowing much about HVAC. Saw an obvious problem, whipped out the duct tape, and...cold air!

So what do I spend the recovered cash bonanza on is my question.

Woke up and filled the feeders (and chided the squirrels--GET OFF MY LAWN).

Since the rain's been wonky setting out water daily too.

New product idea!

(Is this just a USA index? Any international consensus?)

Status: Coughing up whatever's in the air outside.

Effing AQI, gonna wear masks forever damn the torpedoes.

Time for an AC/2nd coffee break before finishing the last (I hope) bit of digging.

Good Ol' Prison

Black denied a request that Householder be allowed to report to prison. Instead, two U.S. Marshals handcuffed Householder behind his back and escorted him out of court with his family watching from the front row.

Householder expressed no remorse for leading an extensive bribery scheme at the Ohio Statehouse....

oy. up with the sun to dig before the temperature got wild. That worked but 80+%RH and orange AQI. Moving sloooow and drinking water like a crazy person.

@Alfred With a reassuring tone tell me it's totally fine too remove some bolts from foundation girders in a residential structure. Thanks in advance.

When you want to make an omelet you have to remove girder bolts.

Look, they're in the way just trust me. It's fine. Nothing can go wrong.

I'm rich!

"five billion mobile phones are currently sitting unused and unloved in desk drawers around the globe ... their innards contain 50,000 tonnes of copper, 500 tonnes of silver and 100 tonnes of gold. There's also enough cobalt to build batteries for ten million electric vehicles."

@catlynne333 @Madken65 was going to say, the Infrastructure Act is putting more money into states than they can keep up with at the moment. Publicity is happening, but it's not glamorous like failed submersibles.

This bridge collapse in Montana reveals another reason to look after American infrastructure. Long haul fiber optic cable is laid along rail and highway easements. The broken bridge also took out a major Internet route.
