Hello pretty thing….

/Los Angeles once had a perfect public transportation system of electric cars. Then the freeways came (folks often lay the blame on the 10 because of its trajectory and when it was put in), the smog arrived and now they are museum pieces (and movie props). Their tracks were small and narrow compared to their larger cousins. I remember the tracks that ran down the middle of Venice blvd. Dainty tracks for a mighty fleet.

@Redskye572 Smog was there before I-10. It was urban sprawl and just a massive influx of people + the natural tendency for inversion layers that made the smog a big thing. Narrow gage trains/trams would never had made it thru the sprawI lived there from '58 to '78.

@attilatheblond the freeways made the smog worse. I remember in the 70’s/80’s trying to breathe through that yellow haze.
