Just this morning, I was talking with my sister about coping while holding awareness of the world's suffering.

Sometimes the news makes my arms hurt and my mind ache. For my own reasons, I feel called to witness it.

But then what do I do?

If I can do something to help, I help--whether I'm up close or far away, I do what I can.

And then I breathe, try to hold grace and compassion, and keep on.

As best I can.

@Minholkin To fail to bear witness is to abandon our fellow man.

To allow ourselves to stare until we go mad is abdicating self-responsibility.
