Had a task at work to convert an old black and white photo into a "sketch." I mucked about with various filters and effects but could land on anything that I liked. So after about 20 hours of tracing I ended up with this.

Sorry you dad wasn't supportive though. I tell people even if you don't plan to make art for a living, it's still useful to have a creative outlet of sort.

always straight to ink or do you sketch with pencil sometimes? I find I "think" better with pencil to get the idea down, then I can be more selective of which lines to keep when I ink.
