Well this is interesting. There's an encoder that "poisons" your uploaded artwork so that it messes with a.i. trainers. Read more about "Nightshade" here; technologyreview.com/2023/10/2

Nova Corps Nebula
(What If...? season 2).

From a "What If...?" themed drink & draw.

Really enjoyed this episode and it's Blade Runner sci-fi noir vibe. And Nebula is my MVP pick from the MCU so far.

Tonight's CJH Drink & Draw is "What If...?"
Narrowed it down to three characters to draw; which one should I do?
1. Nova Corp Nebula
2. Wanda Merlin
3. Dr. Strange Supreme

We stream and 7pm HST so answer before then. :D

I had this rough in the my watercolor sketchbook for about a year now. Decided it was finally time to paint it.

"The Death of Superman" story arc was the first time as a comic nerd that I can recall broadcast news covering a comic book story. It was a huge event at the time.
The background purple and gold are metallic but unfortunately metallics don't scan well.

I'm catching up on "Reservation Dogs" and felt like drawing something from the show...William "Spirit" Knifeman has a pretty unforgettable look so that's what I landed on. So come hang out with while I draw this character played by Dallas Goldtooth and b.s. about the show.

Scheduled for 10am HST, 15 Jan 2024
Rated TV-MA for possible langauge
Simulcast to FB, YT, and Twitch

@nonayadambidnes Thanks. Felt strange not to add color though. But it felt like this should be straight line art.

Fenrir Bound

I followed called an IG acct named Binding_Fenrir; a craftsperson with a Viking flair. I always liked the name finally decided to illustrate something based on the words but not the actual mythos. My bound Fenrir is the boon companion and protector. The Binding_Fenrir account is now Oreamnos Oddities so I was able to use her as the rough likeness for for the character in this. Seemed fitting since it was the old account name that inspired it.

All lot people fancast Alan Ritchson as various superheroes, but I'm thinking....

From a Hayao Miyaki themed drink & draw stream.

Kind of an off night for me. At least No Face is easy to draw.

@MariaAragon64 Maybe something Dali-esqe? A surreal landscape thing.

I'm in a frustratingly paradoxical situation. I'm feeling the itch to paint again finally, but I still have no ideas of what to paint and I do want to paint SOMETHING. I don't want to default back into abstract work again. I want to do something figurative and symbolic or a landscape. (sigh)

As we enter the election cycle proper, I'd like to remind people that social media discourse will get even more volatile. And it will be over the stupidest, most inconsequential things; like movies, and shows. This happens because tensions are ramped up and people are looking for a release, but aren't comfortable arguing about the things that are actually stressing them; so the take out out on inane pop-culture arguments. I know it can be tough, but I encourage you not engage in this discourse.

I enjoyed "Echo." It drifted quite a bit from the comic version, but it had to. What they did give us is some of the better writing in D+ series. Alaqua Cox does a fine job (this is her first and so far only acting gig) but the supporting cast are exceptional. They carry her when needed. I think it's a solid entry overall.

p.s. there is a mid-credit scene on final episode.

WTAF?!

215 bodies recovered from shallow unmarked graves next to a Mississippi jail. Family members never notified. One young man was "accidentally" fatally struck by police. And the crazy thing is the article seems more upset that the family wasn't notified... like hey, it's fine to kill a random civilian as long you notify the next of kin.

Putzing around with more emotive figure drawing and it turned in to this.

Photon from The Marvels as portrayed by Teyonah Parris.

More experimenting with watercolor on the Niltech tone paper.

Built up from a figure/pose study.
