I was guest on "Sketch Up with Mog & Mel" as they had on the creative team behind "Dracula 1944". Since their book is about a Vampire I figured I should draw one...or two.

Reimagining the Goddess, Isis

I picked up some Kuretake gold ink and wanted a character that I could adorn in gold. The goddess Isis seemed like a good option. I did my take on the goddess but included elements like the throne symbol, ankh, wings, and an usekh collar to hopefully sell the look as Isis.

Retro Sci-FI Profile

As a child of the 70s I grew up with a lot of retro and pulp sci-fi. This was a Saturday warm-up project to get in the drawing mood. I wanted to try to capture the look and feel of the art that graced those old sci-fi stories.

This is second time I've met and got to hang out a bit with artist Rick Hoberg. This time I pre-commissioned some art from him, his choice of character. He did the cool ass Vader. Especially cool knowing that he worked on the official comic adaptation of Star Wars back the late 70s.

I had this rough in the my watercolor sketchbook for about a year now. Decided it was finally time to paint it.

"The Death of Superman" story arc was the first time as a comic nerd that I can recall broadcast news covering a comic book story. It was a huge event at the time.
The background purple and gold are metallic but unfortunately metallics don't scan well.

Fenrir Bound

I followed called an IG acct named Binding_Fenrir; a craftsperson with a Viking flair. I always liked the name finally decided to illustrate something based on the words but not the actual mythos. My bound Fenrir is the boon companion and protector. The Binding_Fenrir account is now Oreamnos Oddities so I was able to use her as the rough likeness for for the character in this. Seemed fitting since it was the old account name that inspired it.
