Annotated replay coming soon.

A scene I had to get out of head and down on paper. Changes from the cinematic scene: heads more bowed, eyes closed, hand on Rocket's cheek.

I am one with the Force and Force is with me....

Continuing the Asians of Star Wars theme for May. This weeks it's Chirrut Imwe played by the Donnie Yen.

Full disclosure, I drew the head on the large side so I reduced it in Photoshop.

Odd fact? This is drawn the backside of the copy paper with reference images of last week's subject, Fennec Shand.

For more like this follow the tag and @epicprops on IG.

I call this Bo Flex.
Had to get this out of my head; Bo Katan with a Mandalorian heavy infantry blaster. No significance to the hexes, they're just a design element.

A friend posted a small tribute to James Hong and I thought, hell ya, I should do a James Hong drawing steam...and here we are. I've seen James on TV and movies my whole life. He's created many iconic roles.

So since it's AAPI heritage month, and he's James Freakin' Hong, let's draw a few of his characters.

Scheduled for 3pm HST, Saturday, May 13th.
Rated TV-MA for possible language.
Simulcast to FB, YT, and Twitch.

The “battle of the sketches” (see @epicsprops on IG) continues the Asians of Star Wars theme for AAPI heritage month; this week's character is Fennec Shand (@mingna_wen)

Here you get two Fennecs. :D

Let's jump in the way-back machine and revisit the first video I ever posted on YT. This is Peter Jackson's Kong drawn in a now defunct FB app called Graffiti. It was very limited which was oddly a pleasant challenge. You could only adjust the brushes size, opacity, and hue/color. But it also recorded your drawing process out as replayable flash file. That server that housed them is gone, but I managed to record a few of them.

Throwback to a personal project from 2014. A hand drawn tee with Urdnot Wrex from Mass Effect (video game). He was my favorite character. It was drawn with acrylics, paint pens, fabric markers, and laundry markers. It's held up pretty well and is still my tee shirt rotation...just not too often; cotton gets thinner over time.

It was one of the earlier projects that I actually recorded so I decided to edit it down for a YT short: youtube.com/shorts/hWuwiwL-gic

The series "Owl House" was recommended to be my @AngusAnimates on Twitch. The is voiced by @wendiemalick who I've loved since "Just Shoot Me." I binged the series, which is amazing, joyful, touching, and lovingly crafted. I iked they way the used montages to move the story forward to keep things tight. They used them so well.

Anywhoo...here's Edalyne but with the face made to look more like Wendy's :D

You know, for reasons!

Bit of repost, but finally got the time to finish and upload the annotated replay:

It's at 20X speed and runs about 4 minutes:

From a "minority superheroes" themed drink & draw. Here's some pandering to my Vietnamese roots. It's an aged up Karma from the New Mutants/X-Men. I used actress Lê Thị Hiệp as the basis for her appearance. Fitting since both Lê and the mutant Karma (Xuân Cao Mạnh), were refugees from Vietnam. Unfortunately Lê passed away in 2017 so I greyed her up the from the reference. I tried to make the costume resemble a traditional Vietnamese ao dai dress.
