Just a reminder that @JustinTrudeau also used the notwithstanding clause & tabled back-to-work legislation of his own to literally do the exact same thing to dock workers.

@3lbca The Trudeau government has passed back to work legislation multiple times *without* invoking the Charter of Rights notwithstanding clause. There is a difference and it’s important. Ford *could* have done the same without the nuclear option of the notwithstanding clause.
Ford’s tabled legislation overrode Charter sections 2, 7&15 where everyone has the right to:
2 -freedom of expression, assembly & association
7 -life, liberty & security of the person
15 -be equal before & under the law
