In the mail yesterday I got a letter from AARP warning me about a republican-based bill, The Trust Act which is going to attack Social Security benefits of retirees. Their letter solicited donations to fight this bill.
In July of 2022 I sent an email to the CEO of AARP asking why they're supporting the election of pols that were going to attack Social Security. I received a response telling me that I was misinterpreting the motives of those pols receiving AARP endorsements. Bullshit.

Republicans raised the debt ceiling three times during the Trump administration with no fuss at all. They never felt it necessary to try to persuade Trump to cut spending, and the Freedom Caucus didn’t utter a peep as he massively increased the deficit. These hostage situations are reserved for times when the GOP holds the House and a Democrat is in the White House. Shocking, I know.

Day four of hanging with our new puppy. Sage is almost nine months old and learning so much. It’s wonderful to watch her fascination with everything!
We brought Sage home today. She made herself at home! What a lovely, gentle creature!

Thankful that we elected one of the most compassionate men to every hold the office of President of the US. Joe Biden is sincere, honest and deeply connects with everyone of those honored today. Thank you to all those honored. You're real public servants and quite a contrast to what is happening in the halls of Congress today.
