If House Republicans had held Trump responsible for his actions during the impeachment proceedings, would these DOJ actions be happening today?
I would guess so, this is criminal - impeachment is a political response.
It wasn't about a cake and it's not currently about websites. It's about state sanctioned hate. What a mess. What was the point of this suit? No one was going after this woman to design their website - she just wanted a license to hate who she hated and the court decided to hear her victimless suit. Insane.
So is it getting serious enough that Trump actually has to pay for legal services now? Just wondering?
There is essentially no difference between reservist Airman Teixeira and TFG. They should both be sitting behind bars and treated with no difference.
Am I the only one becoming so cynical about the usefulness of petitions? I used to believe that they could potentially alter something - I just don't see anything changing and signing them ends with me becoming the target of extreme fundraising efforts. Constantly feeling used.
The gaggle of lawyers were all walking away from that news conference with big “I’m gonna get paid today!” smiles. The damage goes well beyond what Dominion suffered. Our society will never get retribution for Fox enabling Donald Trump’s lies.
The Tennessee Speaker that led the removal of two black representatives apparently doesn't live in the district he represents. That should be a reason for removing a representative. He's taken maximum per diem payments for living 200 miles away from Nashville.

The events of the past few days - Tennessee, Supreme Court judges for sale, hatred for LGBTQ people and stupid repressive laws meant to bolster and promote hate has me feeling like there's only a few of us paying attention and we're afflicted with having a conscience. Most of society seems to be acting like the hell scape being created is perfectly normal. It'll never end this way.
How appropriate is it that the guy that'll probably bring him down is named Pecker?
I'm seeing double here.
He's been a mobster his entire adult life - this trajectory should surprise no one. This is only the beginning - he'll be in courtrooms for the rest of his adult life. What a sad pathetic man.

In the mail yesterday I got a letter from AARP warning me about a republican-based bill, The Trust Act which is going to attack Social Security benefits of retirees. Their letter solicited donations to fight this bill.
In July of 2022 I sent an email to the CEO of AARP asking why they're supporting the election of pols that were going to attack Social Security. I received a response telling me that I was misinterpreting the motives of those pols receiving AARP endorsements. Bullshit.

I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia and I was amazed last year when someone opened up a Trump Store near Levitttown, PA. The same guy opened a second location near Montgomeryville. How can anyone make a living doing that? Am I missing something?
Someone had to meet with bankers and get financing. They had a business plan probably. The bank said yes.
