gonna think aloud a moment about the move back to CoSo

(if i can successfully do a thread)

deprogramming.

thatā€™s what my move back here is going to take.

my (nearly constant) attention on twitter started as a compulsion to stay current on events. not much direct socializing.

and then i found a few interesting folks to follow and built up a nice network of genuinely interesting, caring people that i didnā€™t know and didnā€™t interact with

but that transformed into trolling for justice. piling onto high profile accounts doing shitty things, then sparring with all the shitty little followers

thatā€™s incredibly unhealthy, morally satisfying, and completely ineffectual.

coming back from twitter to CoSo tonight, i feel a pang of loss; iā€™m giving up the opportunity to argue with strangers in public.

i know thatā€™s healthy, and yet i feel sad letting it go.

@_jeremygray I've been less active over there lately. Can't say I've missed it much. If it gets any more toxic, I won't miss it at all, especially if the orange menace returns.

@DVillella no kidding. ā€œifā€ is trending to ā€œwhenā€ more by the minute.

@_jeremygray I'm waiting to see who gets booted over there for daring to question Dear Leader. I've been put in Twitmo several times just for QUOTING him.
