Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona won a tough campaign for re-election on Friday, defeating his [DFG]-backed Republican rival, Blake Masters, to put Democrats within one seat of retaining control of the Senate.
Democrats hope to clinch the chamber when votes are fully counted in the Nevada contest between Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, a Democrat, and her Republican challenger, Adam Laxalt, who held a tiny lead late Friday but was expected to fall behind.

NPR (National Public Radio) in the US has told its staff to no longer give their Twitter handles on air or ask people to follow them. According to Ben Smoth, EiC of Semafor.
I probably would have paid $8 for a Twitter where it guaranteed that users hate somehow identified and could be held responsible. That would have minimized trolling and hate speech and would have been worth it. I’ve blocked nearly 800 over there and it barely made a dent. But this nonsense over there is obviously just making everything worse. Although I must admit to being amused by all the blue checkmark-verified Popes fighting it out today. But the surge of fascists and hate speech? Nope.
