My wife grew up in Texas. In late 2000, she came with me to the upper midwest. NW Wisconsin, to be exact.
Our first winter up here, she said the weatherman was saying it would likely snow.
I said "Nah. It's too cold to snow." It was below zero.
"TOO. COLD. TO. SNOW?!"
"Yeah."

I think that's the precise moment she began to loathe the upper midwest.

She looks outside. Sees the sun for the first time in weeks. Everything's gleaming white. She gets excited. "The sun is out! It's warm! Lets go outside!!"
"uh... hun, you want to bundle up before you do that..."
"What? Why? The sun is out, finally!"
"Ok, knock yourself out."
She puts on a light jacket, light gloves, and romps out the door.
Comes back in 10 seconds later from the -30* weather.
"I fucking hate you for bringing me here."
