The measures they're implementing represent a significant shift in what UK are doing. Also a much more transparent aporoach with stuff being said in the open, to the nation, not briefed to some toady journo. Thank fuck. They're actually being quite grilled by even the Johnson supporting press.

Obviously, we need to keep up, but folks such as me who are umbilically connected to news channels risk making ourselves sick. The connection between elevated stress levels and reduced immunity is well documented. Thus it seems entirely feasible that we increase our vulnerability to disease and infection by being overexposed to a continuing cycle of drastic news.
Just a thought people but if there's going to be "lockdowns" in effect soon then stocking up on stuff to do from craft or hobby shops or somewhere might be a good idea.. Learn a new skill.. Knitting or crochet are low cost things to learn and lots of people have spare needles and yarn etc. It's something that you can pick up from YouTube or that could be taught over Skype by an at risk isolating person to a group of kids for example
