@process Anyone over 50, this is not good news. Anyone in care...
I know you have parents... ❤️

More ppl need to be working from home. NHS staff need guidance and support.
Claimants are still having to sign on and attend, look for work, do interviews.... talk about a vulnerable demographic; taking the bus, using IT at library.
Just yikes...

Lots of science-y folks are posting this graph. But if there is one thing I have learned from being on the internet, it is this:

Data/graphs: Not compelling to very many.

Kitties: Compelling to very many.

So I present: .

In spring, a traffic rotary nearby becomes filled with thousands of cheerful yellow daffodils.

Today, I noticed a *single* daffodil in full bloom, while all of the rest remain green stalks.

The only blossom.

Hope can be like that.

Greetings and Good Evening CoSo

Lots of drama today...please consider using tags when you post images/screen grabs.

Give those of us who need a break the ability to mute items that we need to. 🙏

THIS STORY WAS FALSE.

NYC is not shutting down:

As an indication of growing public alarm, on Thursday a series of false messages began spreading rapidly in chain text messages and on social media that suggested the city would implement containment measures such as shutting down public transit, blocking roads, and implementing quarantine zones across the five boroughs by this weekends. They were attributed to sources in the NYPD and FDNY.

This is worth looking into...

I'm sure there was some sort of app involved in tracking and providing updates on in S Korea or China?

BREAKING: in a MAJOR intervention into financial markets, the Fed will inject $1.5 TRILLION dollars. It’s a move designed to prevent a sharper economic contraction than what may already be underway. wsj.com/articles/fed-to-inject

Remember this. The US Government has a TRILLION dollars laying around to save CORPORATIONS, but health care for all Americans is a bridge too far

One of the challenges when discussing the toxicity of the tabloid media with people who consume tabloid media is that the consumers totally buy into the "no smoke without fire" argument. They think that if the Sun consistently prints headlines saying "don't trust flat-chested women", that flat-chested women must be untrustworthy, because why else would the Sun print that headline?
The idea that somebody in the editorial group is Making Shit Up to gain readership never seems to occur to them.

People have no idea how much hands on, intensive care vent patients need. They don't stop producing mucus when they get intubated. The lungs accumulate fluid and need to be manually suctioned. That's a discrete task that needs to be performed A LOT for every vent patient. Or they die!

This task puts the caregiver at waaaaay higher risk of infection and you need new disposable PPE each time. It is a real burden and caregivers will die as a result.

For all those who find themselves unexpectedly working from HOME due to current events .... CONFERENCE CALL BINGO!!!!

I think I've had most of these just with intra office skpe meetings tbh

😂🤣
