This whole political mess has long-since stopped being about policy or party. It has become only about winning. So very, very disturbing.
@XSGeek I agree! But the win at all costs seems to weigh most heavily on his immovable base and many, publicly at least, serving members of the GOP. Past serving members for the most part are equally as appalled at the lawlessness and stubborn obstruction being perpetrated.
Jennifer Rubins at WaPo is a great example of that!
I've come to realize that perhaps I haven't been listening carefully to her in the years before 🍊 💩 🤡, after he is gone, I'm going to try to remember that although we disagree with some real basic assumptions about the world and humanity, She is a honorable person who is trying to make the world a better place.
@XSGeek Disagreements are the basis, IMHO, of how government works for ALL the people. Debate. Compromise. Bipartisanship. All gone, now. I’m devastated by how it’s all changed in such a relatively short span. It’s OK to have differences in policy, and even respect another’s point of view, perhaps even learn something you may not have considered. It’s how we all evolve. I see virtually no such discourse happening among the general public at this moment. I hope we can get back there, I really do.
