Personal opinion ... Trump will withdraw US from in exchange for ending the war.

At the grocery store today, someone was driving a beat-up pickup truck with a giant oversized flag. It read:

TRUMP
2024
NO MORE BULLSHIT

Classy as ever.

The person driving that truck has no clue what awaits him.

@Bulico The way to the future is through the Eugenics Wars and World War III. I fear we may be on the verge of fulfilling that prediction.

This morning on the fake lake ... The young alligator has come and gone over recent weeks. I hadn't seen him for several days, thought he'd moved on, but he's back.

The young anhinga has been molting. At first, I thought he'd been injured in the hurricane, but it's a natural occurrence. His new feathers are growing in just fine; I suspect he'll move on once he can fly again.

@catlynne333 The secret to diplomatic relations with a cat is to treat it as the dominant life form it knows it is.

I grew up with cats, typically 4-6 in the house at a time. I learned how to communicate with them on their level, should they deign it.

To this day, I can connect with a cat when no one else can. A daughter-in-law once had two outdoor cats. She said they never let people touch them. Both were in my lap within minutes. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Grieving the loss of Tony Todd, who never got the recognition I felt he deserved as one of the best actors of our time.

@Tacitus_Kilgore I've been online since the late 1980s with Usenet. I ran a science fiction forum on the long-defunct GEnie network circa 1990. I've been at this game long before it was called social media. People sometimes forget the "social" part. When someone crosses a line, I give the opportunity to do the right thing. Most do. Some want to pick a fight. That's when I show them the exit. Life is too short to play games with a bunch of glowing phosphors on a computer screen.

@Tacitus_Kilgore @Tee_Lynn

If someone crosses a line, I tell them so and ask them to correct the problem. Most do. A few feel the need to double down. That's when I mute or block them. Block is usually reserved for those who "I double-dog dare you" thinking I won't do it. ๐Ÿ˜Š

@elbutterfield I've already been personally attacked twice. One person apologized after I pointed out it was inappropriate, and deleted the offending post. The other did not, and is on mute now.

I have seen a lot of people here personally attacked. I'm not alone.

@th3j35t3r

A general observation ... There sure seems to be a lot of sniping going on here in the last few days since the election. People are taking out their frustrations on other CoSo members who are not to blame.

I've already put one person on mute. Please think twice before you fire all your missiles at your fellow Cosonaut. We are not the enemy.

The National Science Foundation and the University of Central released today a final report on the collapse of the Arecibo Telescope in 2020.

"... [T]he root cause of the Arecibo Telescope's collapse was unprecedented and accelerated long-term zinc creep induced failure of the telescope's cable spelter sockets."

@th3j35t3r I do my best to promote on other platforms, but people always seem to have a convenient excuse, e.g. "I already have too many social media platforms." Yet they have Zombie Twitter, even though they complain about it.

@VelvetDuchess It will be awful for all of us but, if drives the economy off a cliff as we fear, the Republicans will be in for a bloodbath in the 2026 midterm and the 2028 general. Assuming we still have elections.

@lifeinthePNW certainly won't care about what anyone thinks, or about the job losses. He just wants to get his criminal charges dropped and exact revenge on his enemies. Then he's back to the golf course and becomes president.

Vance can run for re-election. Trump can't. That's a significant difference, if one assumes we'll still have elections.

@MariaAragon64 waived security checks during his last administration. No doubt he'll do the same this time around.

How loyal will Republican politicians be to the agenda versus protecting the pork in their districts and states?

Will Rick Scott (R-FL), a potential Senate Majority Leader, dismantle to pass a destructive Trump agenda?

The potential for needed reform is there, but MAGA sees "reform" as blowing up government without any thought to the consequences.

A President Vance/Elon Musk team will have more of a clue than Trump/Musk, but I'm not sure that's good. (6/6)
