@Spagesgallo1 I've been a political consultant off and on for decades. I knew how the numbers had to work out that night. I knew Hillary's poll numbers had been sliding. She needed Florida; when she lost it, I knew the math probably wouldn't work out.

But she did win the national popular vote by almost three million. 🀬 electoral college ...

I think the Dems could flip Florida if they put more effort into it, but they haven't. This year is better than recent years.

@Spagesgallo1 Yep, I remember election night 2016. When was called for , I turned to my wife and said, "That's it. Trump is president."

I don't think Florida will make the difference this year, unless it flips for , which to me seems unlikely (since I live here).

@GNious A few years ago, I *almost* took a job here with SpaceX, until at the last minute they changed the working conditions and cut my wages by 25%. I said no. Best decision I ever made.

Elon preys on guillible zealots who want to make a difference, works them to death, then lets them go. You're only treated properly if you're one of the genius engineers. Everyone else is cannon fodder.

(I still think the Butler attempt is messing with his wetware a lot more than we know.)

@MLClark Such a wonderful article, especially the section about your encounters with street people. I'm all for character studies, ones that can be an inspirtation for fictional characters. Medellin has them in abundance.

@VictoriaLandis1 Oh good lord, I can only imagine what Robinson's ads are like. At least he's going to lose by a lot.

@VictoriaLandis1 The Republican ads are particularly awful. They're obviously all produced by the same company, cookie cutter with their lies and falsehoods. Two more days until they're gone.

@WanderingDabbit

I'm going to remain skeptical and treat it as an outlier, but it doesn't hurt to keep hope alive. 😊

@DevinY1

@dauphin87 Meanwhile, Maya Rudolph is headed to a rally in Detroit. It's a test to see if anyone notices the difference. 🀣

@danialexis My Florida TV has been bombarded with ads for weeks claiming that Harris and every Democratic candidate are using tax dollars to fund sex changes for illegal immigrants.

By the way, only has six electoral college votes, but every little bit helps . losing Iowa would be very symbolic.

@SSNBubblehead I've heard a lot of progressive pundits say that all year. Dobbs pissed off female voters bigly. We saw that in 2022; it's only become worse as more and more states impose abortion bans.

Maybe it's not a blue tsunami so much as a pink one.

@SSNBubblehead could lose 70-30 and still claim massive fraud. Nothing will shut him up; the media need to ignore him once he loses instead of continuing to air the freak show.

@DevinY1

@DevinY1 One can hope. 😊

I've spent a lot of time in Iowa. It does have its progressive areas. We'll have to see if that's enough this time.
