Federal Reserve decides not to raise interest rates ... As I've been posting for months, was tamed long ago, it was a figment of the "one-year-ago" comparison. For the last 11 months, it's been 2.6%.

It looks like only about 1,000 demonstrators total were around the Miami courthouse today for the arraignment. For the most part, everyone behaved, only minor incidents.

The neighborhood Trumper's house is all buttoned up. Normally he has the garage doors open. I wonder if he drove down to Miami today for the rally.

Just looked at the monthly CPI, which is where you can calculate the true inflation rate not tied to an arbitrary annual comparison.

CPI started going down in July 2022. So if you compare today's CPI (304.127) to July 2022 (296.276), inflation for the last 11 months was 2.6%.

But you won't hear that in the news ...

From ... As I've been saying for months, "inflation" stopped long ago. "Inflation" was an illusion created by an arbitrary comparison to one year before.

A year ago, "inflation" was a temporary phenomenon due to the invasion of at the same time the global supply chain was struggling to recover from the pandemic. Now we're approaching the one-year anniversary of when the supply chain caught up, so no "inflation."

From Miami Herald: Magistrate will oversee arraignment tomorrow, not Aileen Cannon. She remains on the case as the "lead judge."

miamiherald.com/news/politics-

"... It remains to be seen whether Cannon β€” who could handle Trump’s first court appearance instead of a customary magistrate judge β€” will stay on the case after the former president receives a bond, enters his plea and is released from custody."

For those questioning who biased Aileen Cannon came to be chosen as the judge:

"U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon was selected β€œoff a wheel” from among four federal judges in the West Palm Beach division of the Southern District of Florida ... Cannon, normally based in the Fort Pierce section of that division, was nominated by Trump and joined the federal bench just days after he lost the presidential election in November 2020 ..."

For a local perspective, this morning's Miami Herald.

"Miami has hosted its share of marquee criminal defendants over the years β€” Panamanian strongman Manuel Noriega, al-Qaeda jihadist Jose Padilla, and Cocaine Cowboys Willy Falcon and Sal Magluta β€” but no one nearly as prominent as Donald J. Trump."

raw video of special counsel Jack Smith press conference this afternoon. It's indexed to 23:30 but, if it doesn't go there, fast forward to the 23:30 mark.

Doing a quick review of the PDF, I don't see anything that suggests Trump shared documents with foreign powers. But they were in his ballroom for a while and there are instances where he shared contents with guests and interviewers.
