@Keep_on_Kraken Frank is a great example of how hard it is to make such a judgement. Who would have expected there are up to 3 active bands of former bandmates playing his music today nearly 30 years after his death? No, they’re not wildly popular, but people go and they know all the songs by heart. I can attest to that coz I’ve seen both Dweezil and The Zappa Band in the last couple years. The present day composer refuses to die!

@Keep_on_Kraken Maybe. And for the most part, I won’t be playing those songs, and no one else will be playing the ones I like. I’m a good judge if you know to pick the opposite of mine.

@Keep_on_Kraken Probably true. A 2 year span is not long enough for something to become “timeless”. I don’t think Stairway to Heaven or Bohemian Rhapsody got called that until a decade passed and they showed their staying power.
