@BillyBones I've always wished that Christmas still began on Christmas rather than ending. So, this year, I'm having a party on Jan 6. I always leave the tree up.
@TXPamInOH Yes! The thing abou the Blue Bird is that only well-known people get a reaction. It is difficult to be "seen" unless you are important.

@LindaTeppler Wow! I have never made it this way! I layer: cubed pound cake sprinkled with orange liquore, berries, cream cheese whipped with sour cream. Whipped cream on top -- or not.
@NorthWestBird I hate clutter. The difference for me is that I am very messy, my husband is very messy, and I don't love my clutter.

I worked with Radio Antilles in Montserrat for 2 years, and was introduced to the Christmas tradition of "The Jumbie Table"
(Jumbie and duppy are two of the prevalent names for ghosts)
On Christmas Eve, a table laden with samples of all Christmas goodies -- black cake, sorrel, ham, baked pork, rum, ginger beer, souse etc--- is set up and left for the spirits of the dear departed.
Whatever is not used by the jumbies, is promptly consumed by the living on Christmas day😀

I hope the person who stole the $12 pack of batteries off my doorstep last night enjoys their batteries. No doubt they thought it was something they could sell. I live in low income apartments for a reason. I can’t afford the shit you thought you stole. #annoyed
