Just ran across these panels, in a comic I had somehow missed before by a favorite author/artist team. I know I'm taking these out of context, but... Yes. I would like to say exactly this ; )
Y'see, if you think about _who_ says I am "fallen" and the bad guy, and not to listen to anything I say... and what those people had to say about women, slaves, children... and how they say you should live.
I don't care what I'm blamed for. I do what I do on purpose.
But if they'll lie about what the lightbringer, the "best and highest of angels" did or said, why listen to the rest?
Maybe you're free, too. Maybe "God" doesn't want you to serve kings or be poor or suffer or kill kids.
Maybe the people who make up stories about some "Devil" or other boogeyman weren't doing it to help you. Maybe they were doing it to control you. Make you think you deserve shame, servitude, suffering, poverty, labor. Make you think everything is evil, and only they can save you from those evil not-one-of-uses!
It took me ages to even realize that guy in their stories was meant to be _me_!
I didn't fall. That's a lie.
The Creator is not a king, and gave you none. What they gave was free will.
@AskTheDevil Man's creation of deities responsible for good or bad acts is nothing more than a lazy person's way of shifting responsibilities and sidestepping consequences.
