Everything he does is because he believes he's in danger of getting killed by events beyond his control.

Why electric cars? Because humans are crappy, dangerous drivers and might MURDER him.

Why Mars? Because an asteroid might hit Earth and MURDER him.

Why AI? To keep someone ELSE'S AI from MURDERING him.

Thinking of the Peter Rabbit on display at the 9/11 memorial and museum.

It belonged to Christine Lee Hanson, age 2.5,
who was aboard United Flight 175.

Her grandparents entrusted Peter to the museum. The Peter Rabbit stuffy survived, almost new, but little Christine did not, and I don't know how we reconcile these things.
