I signed up for a half marathon and have been working through a 10 week program to prepare. Longest of the training runs was today. 11 miles. 35-ish degrees. Spitting rain. Fed my kids these things for dinner. The 12 year old finished that double. I wolfed down my own burger (not a double but had a fried egg) and put a dent in the rings & sweet potato fries. Gonna sleep good tonight.

Ok....show of hands as I wind down this day; who had the urge to use this phrase today? <My hand is up>

Had a crappy day. Today's fight or flight choice really wanted to be flight. I fought that urge all day. Made it through the day. Currently enjoying some lovely Canadian whiskey. And...I learned the world now has THESE! WinWinWin counter.social/media/Dm-S59vmE

This sign has hung in my parents house for 30 years. Have always loved it. During visits when my kids were younger...and even sometimes still...we will just point at the sign and wag a finger. No words are necessary. counter.social/media/I1pRVHHWq

This dog really wants to like his new bed. But he can't quite yet handle how soft and squishy it is. Patience. Maybe there is a pea under it. I will check. G'nite all.

Pre dinner snack of roasted pine nut hummus and sweet potato crackers. Paired surprisingly well with a red Moscato. Not my first choice of wine but it was left by a party guest. And I'm a cheapskate and will drink it because it's here. Waste not want not 😉. 🍷cheers counter.social/media/tAqSXnlGn

My personal reward for rocking a presentation to 100 women and men several rungs up the ladder from my position. Go me! counter.social/media/Hd44dRyUq

My father surprised me with a cool Boker pocket knife yesterday. "For all the stuff you do for me." I love helping him. This is an awesome treasure. counter.social/media/kf7UYJDqB

I love SoCo. Having a great conversation about a real topic and I don't feel like I have to filter myself. The normal courtesy and adult rules are in play. So happy. Here's another shot of my mom's easel. counter.social/media/Bk_jcF3T3

Lost my mom in 2003. Still miss her a lot. Was at my dad's today. Her studio is still mostly as it was. I've always loved to look at her collection of comics she thought were funny or thought provoking. Here is a snapshot of the board, with closeup of one of my favorites. Enjoy. counter.social/media/l0Qk0iVwd counter.social/media/6Wq2A2V-u

After a day of sleet, snow, and wind the evening has gotten to be very peaceful. Feeling blessed to have a warm house to be in and to have a glass of wine in my hand. counter.social/media/kaKBhRWT3

Good morning kids!
Ice and snow coming my way tonight. Yuck. I keep this sticker prominently displayed to remind me of a wonderful sunny and warm trip to San Diego many years ago. Hope the mojo works again today. counter.social/media/Z48pMXz2M

So nice to see the communication lines between North and South Korea are being managed by a Windows 98 system. 😞
