So...was stuck at a dead stop because of a fender bender. This dude was passing time by watching some Bob's Burgers. πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Happy Friday CoSo.
Just learned the sale of my father's house closed this morning. Very relieved to get past that ugly reverse mortgage stupidity (and to put the poo-poo heads at Champion Mortgage behind me) but sad just the same.

😁+☹=😐?

Took this pic a few weeks ago right when the Gingko leaves started to fall. Once that tree starts to drop leaves it takes less than 48 hours for it to be bare.

Our shelter rescue had adapted nicely to our house rules about being chill.

I have not been posting much lately. Too many irons in the fire. But I totally wanted to share a photo of the new family member! Got him from the Humane Society. 4 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound. An absolute darling. He got a 3 mile run and a couple walks today. Happy happy boy. Almost time to kennel up for the night. ❀

Pouring rain.
Farthest parking spot from the door.
Push the button on my favorite umbrella.
It opens but....
Sproing!
Search under cars for the AWOL part.
Found it!

Made it to the building fine but velcro strap now only thing holding it closed.
I will see if I can put this back in. But mostly I'm just enjoying the interesting shape; complicated yet simple somehow.

Oh my. Theresa May's look is priceless. She's just gonna eat Macron up and do things to him that would even make the French blush. Come to momma you tasty little frog.

I love my globe alliums. They don't last nearly long enough. Saw this fun thing this morning and wondered if I had stumbled on the globe allium singularity.

I drive a pickup the same size and never need to park like this person in this lot. It would be a waste of breath to address directly so I am using this awesome platform to vent so I can let it go and get back to finding my chakras. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ
Happy Friday CoSo!

Blizzard? Who cares. 😁 Snowblower is gassed and ready. Estimate is 12" by morning.

Actual conversation I had with 13 and 14 YO boys last night:
14: Dad, what's this? We brought it in from mom's car.
Dad: explains old school car cigarette lighters, and how that spot is now mostly used for phone chargers.
13: Oh, I get it. It's where you plug in your Juul.
Dad: πŸ˜– 🀣

Gonna add my pic on the pile. I decided to quit harping on my kids for how soft they are by getting out school today. Well...I will cut them some slack for today. πŸ˜‰

9Β° F here today. So having some tea and watching soccer. USWNT starting soon. Almost 80 minutes into this game and the only comment my 17 yo has said is, "Dortmund's midfield is amazing."

Been AWOL getting through my dad's final days and his service. Used some of his jazz albums as background music. Found this one in his stack.
Before there were there were Twelve Shades of Blue.

When you haven't maxed out the holiday pounds yet, crack open the second bottle of Baileys.
I managed 3 miles on the treadmill this morning but it needed to be more like 30.

Very interesting midwest winter evening. Rained like crazy all day.

Red Cross bloodmobile outside the market. Me to me: "What the Hell." Merry Christmas to someone. Happy karma to me.
It does, however, mean I can't go on my run this afternoon. I'm a bit bummed about that. It is gorgeous outside for a midwest December day.

I've laughed at this sign situation for a year. Finally took a picture. Seems like this would be good meme fodder.

Blue collar meal of the day as requested by my dad: Kraft mac&cheese and fried Spam.
My dad tells the story about the dinner he and my mom were invited to in the early 60s where the hosts served a single baked Spam block as the main course to feed four adults. My dad says, "Your mother and I knew we didn't have much disposable income but knew we weren't that poor." That aside, he said they had a wonderful dinner with their friends. There are a million sub stories and lessons to be rung out.

I got reminded of the Christmas Chucky this evening. I'm pretty sure he has dispatched thousands of Elf on a Shelf. So if you don't have an EOAS in your home you can thank this demon.
