Had a great dinner with good friends this evening. I'm definitely at peace.

This was soooooo good. 🤤🍞🥓🥗🍅🍞. And apparently I don't an icon for lettuce. Salad/lettuce....lettuce/salad...its close.

Had reason today to be in my childhood neighborhood. Took this pic of the grade school I attended 1/2 block from my house. It seemed old even back then. Has since been converted to apartments.

This is what happens when your kid tries to use your rollerblades that sat untouched in the garage for over 15 years.

There is an awesome burger joint not far from me. Little place sitting on the top of a hill. Been open since the 30's. It's a far enough drive that I get there only a few times a year. Happy to say one of those times was for dinner yesterday while entertaining out of town in-laws (who I actually like 😎). Cheap too. This lovely culinary delight, with bacon and a fried egg, was about 5 bucks.

I will never give up on this place. I was raised to believe almost anything can be repaired. Too many people have worked too hard and sacrificed too much to just give up.

A rancher friend in central Iowa caught this pic of a bobcat about to raid the chicken coop. He's now got a 30.06 waiting to greet the critter.

First fire of the year. Guess I'm feeding my kids S'mores for dinner.

And these friends came to visit as well. Had to keep shooing them out of our way. A bit like young kids who want to "help" when you are working on a project.

Helping one of my sons work on an old truck at a friends out building. They have chickens (layers) and a bunch of new fryers. They are so cute.

Interstate is closed 50 miles to the west due to blowing snow. All sports events 15 miles east cancelled due to lightning.
