1600 miles later. Tucson AZ to Cannon Beach OR. Ziggy is back in cooler weather and a different kind of sand

Spent the day hiking with Ziggy in the mountains south of Patagonia AZ. Nothing better (for me) than a burrito and a beer afterwards. Ziggy was happy with his bowl of water. Simple creatures.

Took Ziggy up into the mountains to try and beat the heat yesterday. Had some good hikes without battling cactus 🌵

Ziggy’s first desert hike went as expected. A hour hike followed by 30 minutes pulling cactus thorns out of his paws. Not doing that again. Maybe tomorrow we’ll head up Mt Lemon and find less plants that want to stick him.

Ziggy was a true road dog. After 3 days in the van (seemed like 2 of those was spent getting through LA traffic) he is settling into life in Tucson.

Finally get to the hotel after I drive all day while old Ziggy boy sleeps on the couch in the van. First thing he does is jump on the bed and hog all the pillows. First night out on the road guess I need to be quicker tomorrow night.

Taking advantage of a break in the weather Ziggy decided to take me for a walk around the park.

Missing this goofball today. He was at the trainers for two weeks while we went out of the country. But with all the snow (hey it’s Portland, Or where 1.5 inches shuts down the city) his training isn’t complete. Another day home without my buddy Ziggy.

Life on the road. A new city means new places for us to explore. For Ziggy it means yet another new couch to break in.

Ziggy, my 80lbs lap dog, has no idea of his size. He walked up into my lap as we waited for my wife to get ready for a walk.

My new life as a chauffeur. Passengers are all tucked in and ready to go. Plus the never ending battle of cleaning nose prints off the side window.
