@JoyfullyDazed So....he gave it to himself?
@JoyfullyDazed My exposure to the Baptist church, from a formative age, burned any tendency to believe in a god or gods right out of me.
Totally get it. As kids they put the fear of God into us. WTF. What God would want children to fear Him? All the while It was men in costume robes who wanted us to fear THEM.
I'm more of a believer in the universe being in control...what you put out there comes back, good and bad. But, strangely enough, I do believe there's a "heaven", so to speak. Something beyond death. What it is, obviously I can't say, but...something. True or not, it comforts me.
@JoyfullyDazed Getting beaten up by the deacons' kids because I collected fossils didn't help.
Wish I could agree on the life after death thing. I can't. If I thought I'd have to deal with my batshit crazy Jesus beating mother after death....well, you get the picture.
Hubby doesn't believe either.
I don't know. I just think this can't be IT. Like, wtf is all this bullshit for if it's game over, lights out. That would piss me off.
My favorite quote...
"In order to understand death, we have to look at birth. So, while we’re in the womb, we’re living that existence, right? We have no idea that our next existence is just an inch away. Maybe death is the same. Maybe it’s just the next life. An inch away."

🤔
Depends what you believe, I suppose.
I've never been quite clear on the topic, even after 4 years in Catholic School, several years of Sunday School, CCD and my First Communion.
All the religious answers I need have been found by sitting on a log in the woods. That's my church, and the only one I'll ever need.✌️
