This is an anti-incumbent era. Nearly every national election around the world since late 2022 has featured voters punishing the party in power. That fact is enough to explain Trump's win. No need for theories specific to Trump, Harris, or even America. "It’s the economy, stupid" comes to mind. It doesn’t help that Biden’s economy is actually good, he has turned it all around, but people are struggling to make ends meet and they blame the ones in charge at the moment. That’s always the story.
