So a first happened today... we all know about my weight loss journey. well today i go to the coffee shop and they have church benches for chairs (the owner is big into an antique look) and for last 10 years everytime as i get into the bench i bump the table. for the first time in 10 years i didnt bump the table. doesnt sound like a big deal but hell, for me thats definitely an accomplishment!
@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine yeah for me thats huge. no pun intended
Big accomplishment. I’m proud of you.
I took an extra long walk today without any ill effects. I am proud of me too. Daily walks have eliminated my BP meds. My doc is thrilled.
@LnzyHou thats fantastic!!
@LnzyHou i still got a ways to go. my target is 175 and im at 234 but i can already see me leaning so im pretty sure im somehow managing to add muscle at same time (i can see it in mirror. im not jacked but from a posture standpoint im finally standing more straight than i ever have) so i figure 190-200 should be where im at once its all said and done (factoring in muscle gain) because i dont wanna look lean and look "sick" if that makes sense
Makes perfect sense.
I bought a tie dyed dress last summer which was too tight. Kept it for this year just because I liked it so much.
Was shocked when I wore for my birthday & looked great. 25 lbs makes a difference.
@Timmah1979 Ya know what? That IS a big deal! I get it and I'm happy for your success! Sometimes it's what appear to be the small things that can make all the difference.
@Ironworker229 it's funny what started this whole thing. I quit my ft job in May because I was hired by school district so I assumed I was going to be working summer school. Keep in mind I was still "overweight" but the weight never went up or down in 25 years. Well my finger prints came back late so I ended up having the summer off and for the first time gained 20 lbs. The realization came I needed to do something when I realized I'll be going up/down stairs for 8 hours and didn't wanna die
@Timmah1979 Man! One curveball, right? I'm carrying an extra 25 or so and need to start the carb-cutting to get back to where I like to be. Glad that you're making progress, it can be hard getting back to normal when things kinda "go" for awhile.
@Ironworker229 facts. But I'm planning on taking this to the house. Ive tried to get motivated before to lose but I'd lose interest . I think I'm in the right mindset now.
@Ironworker229 so now I lost 15 of the 20 gained but i think if I wasn't supplementing(I'm using creatine to help the pain in my knee and to save what muscle I do have) that other 5 would be gone . But it's more about leaning than losing at this point. I'd love to be 175-180 but if I can put on some muscle I'll totally be satisfied with 190-200. Not looking to get jacked (I would of said different when I was still in college) but if I look fit. It's def a win
@Timmah1979 Yay!
