After a year long hiatus, we got back out the buttons so MonyMony can talk to us. Six buttons to start. “Outside” she remembered immediately. But she was most excited that I programmed a button so she can say “Alexa, play Enya.” 🤣🤣🤣

- even stop to check to see if we were okay. He just got control of his vehicle and drove away, leaving me and my 83 year old mother sitting there for 30-40 minutes. But I’m grateful we’re fine. I picked up my friend with minimal trouble. And though we are going to need to take the car in to have the bumper reattached on one side, the damage is very minimal.

Early this morning, after a night of fog that froze on the road, I was taking it slowly driving to pick up a friend at the airport when the car ahead of me suddenly went into a spin and careened backward toward my car. I did the only thing I could do to avoid a reason collision and drive my tiny clown car into the ditch. No collision. No injuries. But we had to wait for a patrol officer and then for a wrecker to pull us out. Feeling really lucky. Not so happy with the other driver who didn’t -

Sigh. People who profess to be liberals but use Glenn Beck’s screeds as their talking points give me a headache.

I started a new high protein diet and I feel like everything I do right now is about food. Planning meals. Grocery shopping. Cooking. Eating. Storing leftovers. Oh look, time to cook again. Sigh. Why is it that high carb foods are so convenient and cheap, but high protein eating is so much work?

Though I am beyond grateful for an end to our arctic blast, the transition (interregnum?) is giving me a migraine. I know in a couple of days, my body will adjust, but for now, I’m spending the rest of today in bed.

Today, I installed a new WiFi mesh system. We went from WiFi 5 to WiFi 6, and that sped things up from 1 gbps to 3.5 gbps. I feel like I need a seatbelt.

Woke up two hours earlier than normal and can’t get back to sleep. It’s -4° and feels like -15° outside. Think I’ll go snuggle a doggo for a while.

Dug through MonyMony’s extensive fashion collection and found her winter polar fleece parka with waterproof outer shell. She’s feeing very chic, though she refuses to wear her matching booties.

Bah. Just updated the app for my WiFi system, and now the app can’t find any of the mesh cubes. 🤬 Since my system was bought in 2015, I’m pretty sure this update is intended to make people upgrade. I’m upgrading alright. To a whole other brand.

Woke up to -10°with wind chills of -25°. Today’s high is 0°. Our Amazon delivery was delayed yesterday and now says it’s coming today. I wish there was a way for me to tell them there’s no rush and we can wait until next week. I really don’t want the drivers working in this situation. Nothing I bought is worth their safety.
