Just started #NaNoWriMo22 which always feels like a bit of a mountain to climb (despite the fact that I always write at least 22,500 words a month of morning pages anyway).
I've completed it three times before and given up twice.
I'm continuing the novel I started last November so am already 50k words in.
They say "write what you know" so it's unsurprising that Wendi (protagonist) feels exactly the same way as me in this extract from today's words:
@catmachine Thanks for sharing your writing. I can relate to Wendi's pondering about those who appear devoid of empathy. Over time, I have come to differentiate between those who fail to display empathic feelings outside their small circle of family, pets, friends, acquaintances versus those who are so damaged (or oddly wired) as to meet diagnostic criteria of classic sociopathy. Group A (the far larger group) at least has empathy in their repertoire & could learn/choose to extend. No so with B.
@TessNam Thank you - glad to hear you read my short extract and found it interesting! Wendi is definitely thinking about the people in charge. She's autistic (as am I) so may not display emotions as much as some but feels them very strongly.
