Anyone who's considering throwing away their iPhone because of their proposed CSAM "scanning" should probably feel impelled to avoid CoSo, too.
CoSo does exactly what Apple's is proposing. It's right in the terms and conditions.
@mcfate One important difference: I trust CoSo not to let a government demand access. Like say, if China passed a law making Uyghyur images illegal, and then demanding Apple scan for and turn over all data to them IAW their laws. We've already seen corps accommodate the CCP in order to gain access to their markets.
Plus, when Apple is inviting researchers to examine their capable, but then suing them for doing so... Yeah. Apple can GTFOH.
