Given the way stuff is going regarding what I have to organise over the next week or so, I'm going to need to adjust my plans to get back into content creation from April instead!

Gaming laptop needs an upgrade, but things are more than a bit pricey regarding DDR5-5600, and also SSDs, as an 8TB one is quite pricey!

Y'know, with the impending destruction/continual downwards spiral of Birdsite, it's made me think about all the other popular places in my online life that have either of been shut down or are now mere shadows of themselves...

In case I've not mentioned it on here, I currently have the lurgy, so I'm limited by what I can do until I can shake it off!

So, somehow I managed to lose my current MP3 player, a 128GB micro SD card and earphones... Not happy about this, although I may just need to rummage some more!

Otherwise I need to buy replacements >.<

I'm beginning to think that I should start using the eXoDOS library as my primary source of games to test on Book8088; I can still look at alternative sources for the games, especially GOG, Steam, and other sites/stores, but I need to start with better sources!

Now that things are gradually starting to settle down, I might be able to start doing something from October-November video-wise, although I have been working on a bunch of stuff in the background as it's easier to work on those intermittently!

Started downloading PDFs and ISOs of retro gaming magazines from IA again; I plan to have a sizeable collection of various periodicals for reference material, as well as also trying to work out what is missing so I can see if I can fill in any blanks with what I have here!

Running Paku Paku (2011) on the Book8808.

This, like MagiDuck (2018) uses a Tweaked CGA palette, meaning it can display more colours (up to 16 I believe) than the regular 2-bit CGA palettes! I'm not sure what other games use it right now, but it is cool to see!

Even if right now I'm not really able to do much in the way of content creation beyond the odd minipost or photo, I do consider it equally important to be a 'content curator' as well, especially when it comes to promoting indies and other things I'm interested in!

Finally, I have it... Can't wait to play it on my updated rig :D

Eagerly waiting for the physical edition ^.^

Noice... Now can order on Deliveroo via my Wii... Missing out on using Topcashback, but at the same time, as a once-off for a video, it'll be fine!

Of course, the VGA card I have was recovered from Sekrit Place, so I have yet to actually test it, but it, & many other bits from there need to be thoroughly cleaned before testing, & potentially might need to be repaired somehow! The Sharp handhelds were also found in SP, coincidentally! I'm also looking at getting known working 386 and 486 CPUs for those builds, again using some parts from SP, but also stuff I've bought from elsewhere; my summer is definitely going to be interesting methinks!

Just to add to this thread, I'm also now looking for EGA/VGA cards that'll work with an 8088 setup; I actually have at least one in my possession, & as luck would have it, it also comes with a floppy disk drive connector (I think); somewhere I also have a board with serial and parallel ports, & potentially IDE ports too, leaving one port left for an additional sound card, if I want a game port for some reason, as the Book 8088 comes with an OPL3 card & a small ISA board in the config I chose!

Managed to source a PSU for the 2 Sharp Hc-4001A handheld PCs I have that isn't from the USA... It's what I call a "Europlug", which means that it'll share voltage with UK, but I need to sort out an adapter for it if I'm not going to be using it with my Europlug power strip! Also, they're not easily accessed right now coz of the move, but I know that they're at least around somewhere, either in my storage unit, or in new flat, it's just a matter of getting things unpacked and placed everywhere!

Doing more research on games and software that can be run on an 8088 CPU/IBM PC/XT, although it is a bit tricky working out what actually runs on it sometimes, especially when there are some newer games that are designed to work with it!
