Sandhill Cranes migration
These 2 arrived early evening, circled the pond a dozen times before landing, then made loud calls to alert other passing cranes they'd found a safe place to spend the night. Flocks then started landing.

They've reached the final implosive stage of Libertarian Religiosity where each and every one regards themselves as the ONLY True Believer and every other person in their party no matter how insanely fanatical, no matter how cultishly devoted, no matter how dogmatically loyal, is a heretic. There can be no true Scotsman but them.

Pollinator hard at work
Feather-legged scoliidae wasp.
I know. I know. But despite their fearsome appearance, they're the good guys. They're non-aggressive (I'm less than six inches from it and it's not bothered by me in any way so long as I'm respectful). They seek out and destroy invasive tree bark beetle larva. Their presence is an indicator of a healthy ecosystem.
Plus, they just look so damn cool in macro.
