I work a second job in retail. You get to know the customers. There's this retired guy who comes in frequently, and spends hundreds of dollars every visit, and every single time he also preaches to me (ugh. why me.) about inflation and how bad the taxes are in our county, and how he sold his home in California to get away from taxes, and generally educating me about how much his life sucks and how broke he is now. 🙄
