am considering streaming tonight so there's a reason why nobody joins in :D

The last time I had a contemporary, "cutting edge" video card was the winter of '04. Mind you, this is last year's generation but it's a gigantic upgrade over what I had previously and all thanks to my patrons and the people who watched my videos w/o adblockers. I expect this to serve me for the next decade or so :)

Regarded as one of the best video games ever, Indiana Jones and The Fate of Atlantis isn't as enjoyable to play today as it was thirty years ago.

@JailTheTrumps I had no idea about the WH40K Verse till Dawn of War II :) That was my introduction to it :)

Warhammer 40.000 Battlesector is a solid turn-based tactics game that does its setting justice but no prior knowledge of the 40K Verse is required in order for you to enjoy it.

@CrimsonNeon Look into Grim Dawn, for something newer or Titan Quest for something older.

Breakdancing Penguin is my current favorite Solstice season cup!

Silver is an action RPG released in 1999 by Infogrames, at first on the PC and a year later on the Dreamcast. I tried to play Silver for several years during the first half of the 2000s, but only managed to play it in short bits and pieces, here and there, and unfortunately, once I would get a time-appropriate PC during the winter of 2004.

Apparently, historically speaking, I played various Fallout titles during the winter months, because my Solstice season music is Fallout radio songs - and my wife asks for them :)) They are THAT connected to the season in my household :D

Weekend is in full swing for most people I gather, personally I just woke up 2 and a half hours ago and started editing my next retro pickups video so my day hasn't technically started yet. How's everyone else doing, tho?

Hot take on a 30-year old game: Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis is a really great game that is rendered almost unplayable by a modern audience due to the adventure mechanics of the time. I would've dropped it a long time ago if I wasn't going to do a video on it.

One of the BIG real time strategy city builder series that come from that period of gaming history, is Settlers. And despite city building games being one of my favorite genres, as well as a focus for my channel, I never got around to playing any of the titles till relatively recently and the title that was suggested to start with was Settlers 2. I did not have the OG version on hand though, so I played the 3D engine remake of the 10th Anniversary Edition.

Not simply one of the best adventure games ever but a really one of the best video games EVER. The Longest Journey is rarely brought up in conversations about the best games of the genre, at least at first. I was super happy to find it in physical form this past year :)

@Absinthe I've been covering the HOMM games in order, starting with 2, for a few years now - I've gotten to 5 for now - and for very valid reasons 3 is the most popular video of them :)) youtu.be/sB6GpCTxv-A
