“Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said in a statement that HHS had recommended that marijuana be moved from a Schedule I to a Schedule III controlled substance.
“HHS has done the right thing,” Schumer, D-N.Y., said. “DEA should now follow through on this important step to greatly reduce the harm caused by draconian marijuana laws.”

"While reassigned workers remain employed, the reassignments often land them in roles with titles that are less prestigious, come with lower pay, and are more demanding.
"They recounted getting a phone call or an email from a manager basically telling them your job has been reassigned and you will be doing this from now on, and basically take it or leave"

University of Colorado nanoengineers develop Magic Ink - tattoo ink that reacts to UV light changing it's visibility. They are working under a grant from the NSF to discover medical applications for reactive / color changing tattoo ink.
"The name Bang Bang might not ring a bell, but the tattoos he’s done are very public: They’re cascading down Rihanna, scattered across Miley Cyrus, and peering out from LeBron James, among others. Turns out, Bang Bang loves tech."

It's completely understandable to consider this agist, especially if you're nearer to that age.
However, it's a social preservation necessity.
Society needs those who have done to advise and council those who are doing. We've gotten rid of hereditary roles for a reason -- they don't provide the best and most effective solution and means of running government. We should be doing the same between generational shifts in leadership.
For the greater good.
Business - we're seeing older and older senior leadership raking in a higher share of the profits compared to those doing the work.
Government - our elected officials are getting older and older, especially in the Senate.
Schools, churches, etc., etc.
We seem to have lost a social collective norm on how and when to step aside for the next generation. This does not mean one cannot work or contribute past a certain age, it means that their role in an org or society changes.
America is a society focused on youth.
It's everywhere: movies, adverts, music, etc.
"Age-defying beauty!"
"Makes you look x years younger!"
"Hide the white in your beard!"
The system has been setup for decades to foster our delusions about about aging and what that means and should look like. It's no surprise that this has translated into denials about what folks should and can be expected to do as we get older.
This has unfortunately been exacerbated in the keys areas of our lives:
Senator Mitch McConnell again freezes while talking to reporters in Covington, KY at a Chamber of Commerce meeting.

Any of you all social science majors? I'm curious if we can setup an informal study on engagement on CoSo versus everywhere else.
As has been pointed out time and again, no one joining the 🐦 gets a welcome from existing users like here. I've also seen several semi-popular bloggers over on the 🐦 who also post on here state their surprise at not only the quality of engagement but quantity compared to other socials.
'Twould be a good way to demonstrate that we're different for getting new users!
I have been nominated for a total of 9 awards by the Indie Music Channel, the premiere source for indie/alternative music in North America, and I'm going to talk about the songs that have been nominated. This is Woke AF (the clean version, that we call "Woke AF minus F"). This song got us nominated for Best Alternative Band.
Earlier this year I was invited to join a group of artists...

A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production.
Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
