I think it's interesting that, especially in The States, we have moved into this period where we are more likely to venerate fictional characters in our day-to-day lives than actual folks who lived and made a difference. It seems as though folks are so hellbent on cancelling folks for being "controversial" or what not -- despite being well within accepted norms and values for their times.
It paints a false picture of who people are; people aren't perfect and we should celebrate warts and all.
