To a lesser extent, the Main Street Lending Program could support small business. It’s definitely notable that Mnuchin wants to end the programs that could help public employees and small businesses, now that the threat to investors has subsided.
My problem is that I don’t believe the Fed would actually do anything of value with the authority granted it.

It’s been eight months so far; two MLF loans have been made, despite widespread pressure from Democrats. The theory is that Treasury has been the roadblock all along to lending freely or using the money cannon in any unorthodox way. However, the Fed has plenty of authority to aid state and local governments outside of the money cannon, without Treasury having veto power over it.
@Madken65 I have no proof but it makes me wonder if the PPP loan program was more of a free for all that we’ve seen. Mnuchin must be afraid of what going to come out. There’s a reason the WH has had a steady stream of small-mid size businessmen into Trump’s office for all those photos and laying of hands sessions.
But again, no proof of any of that. Pure speculation on my part.

Ok. I’m high risk for COVID due to multiple autoimmune diseases. Last month I found out my spouse had been ignoring COVID-19 protocols w/o telling me while I had been isolating since February. So that happened. I’ve been on my own since then and I’ve never felt more alone in my life. I’m trying to go on like everything is normal but it’s really hard.
I have a safe space now. But I hate that everyone around me thinks trying to protect myself makes me a coward.

@Thumprhare maybe/yes. But don’t think it will happen. When the hand over is finally done they won’t have time to do much. It’s not like anything has gotten done and there’s the pandemic.

Bird or fish? This little fish is a Pacific Spiny Lumpsucker and it's armoured with tubercules! Basically warts. It's pelvic fins have evolved into a large suction cup, so it can stick to things, cause it's not a great swimmer. Cute though!
