Racism is systemic, and even affects those like me who are MILITANTLY Anti-racist. It takes a LOT of unlearning to get it under control, and even then, it's impossible to kill ALL the Racism you've learned. 😔
My generation was so gaslighted about racism. It was everywhere. Everyone you trusted as a child was racist. Teachers, police, parents….now as adults we fight those voices that echo around in our heads. The worst for me is teachers saying it was okay to drop a nuke because “a those people don’t value human life the way WE do”. That’s the one that I hate remembering the most. If there was a delete key in my brain I would delete all the times I heard that.
