@process Not only that but every hospital has its own secret Book of Prices that is unique and absolutely arbitrary. If your town has two hospitals, the costs for service at each of them are different from one another and unknowable to you at the time of service.

Money can buy a lot of things but a Constitutional Amendment would be a big lift even for Elon, and I'd wager even with our wildly corrupt SCOTUS. Not impossible, but I'd honestly be surprised.

@StevenSavage I'd also add something I used to say to my team all the time, but not so much anymore: "The process serves the team, not the other way around. If it's not working, we can change it."

@StevenSavage My department at work is Agile but the company as a whole is not. Leadership spends a lot of effort communicating to folks outside our org about how we work, and shielding us engineers from the chaos outside our gates. But.. we deliver consistently and have built trust with our stakeholders and as they gradually buy into the process our way of working tends to catch on in other places.

@jjdraws When you make a post you can choose to hide the media (the cw button if you're on web) for any reason you want. Usually for adult stuff, violence, gore, etc. Sometimes people do it as a joke or by mistake but mostly it's for if you think someone might want to choose not to see it.

@FreedomATX My employer is reopening their offices now and also doing a push to hire more remote workers. So I'm the only one on my team in my state but technically I'm supposed to go in so I can be on Zoom with my team all day. Fortunately my boss feels the same as I do and I'm still WFH.

@OminousHallways It gets more interesting when you start thinking about what would happen if their pre-filtering had nefarious goals. If they show you things to make you mad, or convince you of something, or to promote products on the sly.

@L3NNK As the lead engineer on my team with 20+ years of experience I deleted the wrong CloudFormation templates in prod and our services disappeared. My Fortune 100 company was unable to process orders for half an hour and lost several $100k of revenue. I fixed it, fessed up and put processes in place to prevent it in the future. I still work there and lead that team today.

We all make mistakes. Nobody’s perfect. People who look perfect are just good at covering their mistakes up.

@DJNoneYa Probably. 🤷‍♂️ As I've said all along, I don't think anything meaningful is happening. I think it's all smoke and mirrors to keep us just the "right amount" of upset. But I would absolutely love to be wrong about that. I've never wanted to be wrong about something so much in my entire life.

@DJNoneYa I would, yeah. I would have expected them to ask the committee at the beginning to share everything with them in real time as it was produced, rather than waiting for it to accumulate "enough". The only thing I can think of is they knew it would be public information and didn't want to leak anything that could be interpreted as a kind of signal to those under investigation. If I had testified to the committee I'd be shaking in my boots right now.
