That project that I told the business that I could deliver a year ahead of schedule... is on schedule to meet that boast.

Along the way of course all eyes on me as I deliver. I don't want a promotion, I just want to earn my pay. I just want to continue to build on my professional brand, and to set and define new standards of excellence.

At 58, I'm not slowing down mfers, you're getting me about to peak.

"Thanks for driving me to work," he said.

"As a kid I used to drive my dad to work for 6 months after his DUI. This is what family does, we help each other get to work."

He's never been poor to understand this. He's never had a car break down. He's never had to pay for a car repair. When you're poor, you'll host a gofundme to get back on the road and people (like me) respond to that.

I used to get annoyed with getting up at 3:00 AM, 4:00 and our son would be up all night streaming with his friends.

"I don't get care if you get a night job, but get a job."

Then he finally got the PT job at Starbucks. Now when he's up this EARLY, he's getting ready for work like this morning.

I was about to tell him again that I was proud of him when he said, "Have you seen my keys?"

So, already fully dressed in athleisure wear and slippers, without my phone and wallet I drove him to work.

Our son was despondent over the election. "How are YOU doing? He shoots back.

"I'm fine. Life goes on."

"I've lost my faith..."

"When was the last time we took a flag photo? Look.." and I gesture expansively "This is America, adapt. Succeed despite them."

And those last three words, passed on casually to him for the first time ever at age 21...were once my raison d'etre at his age.

2/2 NOW, cities like San Francisco can actually do something to clean up the streets and improve the quality of life in these cities he despises.

I had a nice coworker, with whom I work well express his disgust today for Washington State and all the coastal (read liberal) states because of their politics.

"Yeah, politics drives a lot of people." I said, then asked him why. I pointed out a few facts how inland, he'd find people he's more comfortable with. About the original animated movie, "How to Train Your Dragon", I'd like a warm tear jerker movie about "How to Train Your Dog."

I don't mean untrainable comedy like Marley and Me.

I mean a real schooling on how training and communicating with one's dog opens up the door to such great a great communion with another being. Like thrre are real creatures right now with which these bonds exist. They deserve some real while some fantasize of dragons.
