Ten years ago tonight I won a dance off at the Father Daughter Valentines Day Dance. All those nights at night clubs paid off.

I am sure it was a great memory for our daughter, but it was also our last such dance together.

Now 8 years old, she has fairly reached age parity with us.

She's had a great day.

On this day, one of the most important BEINGS in my life was born. The day the breeder brought her to our home two months later she remarked to the pup "you've won the lottery." 😂

Of course, we ALL did. She has enriched our home in immeasurable ways. Today for her eighth birthday, she gets canned dog food.

I don't celebrate much.

Tomorrow, my canine companion (CC) turns 8. My heart gets a little sad when I think about how many years left we have together. I often ask myself how I can love her more. How can I bring more joy to her life. Being home with her 24/7 has been a blessing for us both. We are in sync. We communicate. She is my familiar.

There's always more that I can and should do for her. Spring will take us back to the dog park. Maybe its time for some tug of war.
