I've made a decision.
Instead of thousands in a problematic dedicated electrical run for a jet tub, I can use standard 120V for this baby which will fit between the vertical windows. Infrared saunas have therapeutic and health value.

I have psoriatic arthritis. The healing effects from the sauna alone make it a no brainer.
Add to that potential therapeautic benefits from infrared and its icing on the cake for my disease, the empty alcove, and the relevant space of our home. Also, tearing down a wall in the laundry room.
I love the contractors I met at lunch today. The designer is a "neighbor" of mine and knows the hood and the buyer profile.

I too have psoriatic arthritis, as well as COPD, so I went in a slightly different direction and had a steam shower installed. The steam soothes and helps clear my lungs while the moist heat is great for my joints. I spend about 15 minutes in it four or five times a week and can't imagine existence without it.
