Sadly, the effects of Twitter's evisceration are being felt in China's protests.
The lack of moderation staff combined with Musk's eagerness to help dictators (he howls about total freedom for hate speech yet bans pro-democracy accounts that China targets) is letting Chinese censors drown out the protesters with spam.
Twitter used to be key to circumventing censorship and organizing protest in authoritarian states. Not anymore.
