@Bliss thank you 💕
If certain politicians and regular folk won’t condemn racism and haven’t for centuries unless it’s the most egregious forms, many of these same folks won’t condemn antisemitism unless a certain name is referenced that begins with an H and then they tap dance around that why would anyone be surprised they won’t condemn a former president that wants to get rid of the constitution. Believe what people tell you they will do.

A genuine encounter with God is life-changing, and after his wrestling match with God Jacob names the place, פְּנִיאֵ֑ל Peni-el (the presence of God) and says, “I have seen the Divine פָּנִ֣ים אֶל־פָּנִ֔ים peniel el peniel face to face, yet my life was spared.” #Torah #rabbisandra

@stueytheround Thank you and I want to be clear; my interpretation is just that, mine. Some may share my perspective and others may not which is cool and all valid and totally Jewish.
The burden is on us, not so much to be summoned into God's presence but to recognize it when we're there. The birth of a child, a recovery from an illness, discovering resources you didn't know you had within you - these and many other moments are times when we might echo Jacob and say, "Surely God is present in this place, and I did not know it."
We often think we must go to a synagogue, church, etc., to find God. And sometimes, we feel disappointed when we leave our houses of worship and don't feel God's presence. And sometimes, showing up for prayer can often feel like an appointment. In this week's Torah portion, Vayetze, Jacob reminds us that God is everywhere.
A prayer for healing for all of us https://youtu.be/EhwOQrdgEUw
