@Rabbisandra with all due respect, some people and some actions are unforgivable. To demand forgiveness just victimizes the victim a second time. It takes responsibility from the bad actor and puts the onus on the victim. It devalues the victims emotions, rendering them unimportant. This whole culture of forgiveness needs to stop.
@Cryspeg I’m not sure you understood what I wrote. I am not saying that anyone is obligated to forgive someone who who hurt them. If you also read this piece and the other piece it might help you to understand how this works Jewishly.
