Thank you CoSo, all of you... CoSo isn't an app it's the people, and you people truly are the best. I've not been posting much, but I'm here, scrolling, resetting, recentering. Not a whole lot of good lately, but I know I can find calm here.

Reached the point in my career where I'm less interested in "proving myself" and more interested in convincing people I know nothing and am not the person they're looking for... I don't want credit for anything, I'm happy give the "wins" to others, just let me sit in the dark corner and quietly do my thing in the shadows...

I am now the proud owner of a violin, and the proud father of a daughter who swears they will practice every day. 🎻🎻🎻

@senthenes maintenance fees alone could bankrupt you 🙂

@senthenes If you're a fed they do 😂

I currently hold:
CISSP (ISSEP // ISSAP)
GCIH
GOSI
GPEN
GICSP
GRID
GCWN

All on the gov's dime, and with those and $3.00 I can get a cup of coffee - or maybe a consulting gig after I retire 🙂.

@senthenes Also, hats off to you, I hear the GSE exam is a real pain in the ass.

@senthenes I hold a variety of certs as well, that's where the real BS costs come in... the maintenance fees are ridiculous.

@senthenes I won't argue that, for the most part, which is why I say if your employer is paying...

SANS SEC660 is wild. Every time I take a SANS course I say it's the best I've ever taken, and I'm right every time.

I wouldn't say I've ever taken a course where all the material is new to me, but I can say I've never walked away from a SANS course without learning a lot. If your employers pay for training and it's within budget, take a SANS course.

Football, for me, is like coleslaw... I want to like it, I really do, but when it comes time to give it a go I just can't stomach it. I keep trying to like it, I want to like it, but every time it's meh at best.

At least I have baseball for a little while longer.

I have been running a rig based on an AMD FX 8320 since 2012. I guess 11 years of continuous operation is well beyond what it should have lasted. It was a great rig, but no matter what I do for cooling it spikes to 130°F as soon as it crosses 15% utilization and by 30% it's at 175°F.

It's alright, Vishera, you can rest now.

What's the opposite of doom scrolling? Because that's what I'm doing here, the opposite of doom scrolling. I rarely browse through this site without smiling at something. You all are the best of the 'net for sure...

Finally, some positive news, tempered with a little realism, but positive nonetheless... Modern medicine/science might as well be magic.

"Freedom Warrior" felt the need to lecture me about being a sheep for wearing my mask in the cardiology waiting room...

Sir, we're just trying to protect ourselves from whatever science projects your dusty ass is distributing around the room.

@Beanc she makes it to the other side of this and she gets all the spa days she wants - forever.

@Beanc what's worse is she keeps telling me I'm doing fine and all I can think about is how I haven't done nearly enough - for years...

@Beanc my wife has been "stay at home" since about a year before we adopted our oldest. While I was certainly never a 'thats not my job' partner, and I always contributed to keeping the house as well, I never realized all she was doing that I either didn't notice or just took for granted. I'm not even doing everything that needs to get done, and my kids have been quick to remind me "that's not how Mom does it" at every turn, and I'm exhausted. I have no idea how she does all she does...
